Why do I need to login?
You will need a username login and password
in order to participate in the secure sections of the ACROSSnet
web site, such as the discussion forums and expert chats.
How do I get a login username and password?
When you apply for membership to the ACROSSnet
web site, you will be asked to nominate a username and password.
Once you have submitted the necessary information and your
membership has been accepted, you will receive an email message
to let you know that your username and password have been
activated. You can then click on the member login link in
the menu at the top right of the ACROSSnet pages and login
to the ACROSSnet web site.
The Username you choose should be close to your name. Eg: joan or jsmith. Your username will be used to identify who you are in discussion forums and chats. The password you choose should be something you will remember easily and is not too easy for others to guess. Click on the help link in the menu above and go to the membership help link on the left hand side of the screen for guidelines on choosing a good password
What if I forget my password?
In the event that you can not remember your
password, contact us by clicking on the 'forgot your password?'
link on the login page, we will email your password clue question
to you. When you provide the correct answer, you will be emailed
your password.
Should I log out when I am finished?
In order to protect information specific to
your user account, you should log out of the site each time
you finish using it. The system has a time out that will automatically
log you out if you are not active for 20 minutes. Note that
just closing your browser window will not log you out
Why can't I log in to the site?
If you have used the correct username and password and still can't log into the site, you probably don't have cookies enabled, which is a requirement of the portal. To support user accounts, the portal needs to use bits of information called cookies to remember who you are. If you have problems logging in, check the Preferences or Options menu on your web browser to make sure that you don't have cookies disabled.
